Former Security Advisor and Speechwriter
during the Obama Administration
For eight years, Ben Rhodes saw almost everything that happened in the heart of the Obama presidency. He was there when the Iran nuclear deal was negotiated, when relations with Cuba were normalized, when the decision was made not to intervene in Syria, and when Donald Trump's election abruptly ended Obama's projects. Ben Rhodes brilliantly depicts the dramas of this presidency.
Rarely has anyone had such an intimate view of the inner workings of politics. His book is a unique work of contemporary history and shows what is possible in politics.
Ben Rhodes joined Barack Obamas election team in 2007 as a speechwriter. Later he was promoted to Assistant National Security Advisor and became one of Obama's closest and most trusted confidants. Today hs is the Co-Chair of the National Security Action Organization in Washington.
